Paris is in for a change of pace during the jail time she was ordered to serve after police caught her behind the wheel of her Bentley without a valid license earlier this year, violating probation for a prior drunken-driving offence. Many women at the Los Angeles County jail where Paris Hilton is expected to arrive any day are already angry at the socialite, a former inmate said. Susannah Johnson, who was released Saturday after a one-day stay at the jail, said inmates were angry at Hilton, believing officials were making room for the starlet at the expense of other inmates already coping with crowded conditions in the 2,200-bed jail."The only advice I could give her when she comes is to shut her mouth and do the time." The heiress, spotted out in LA toting a self-help book called The Power Of Now along with The Holy Bible. Someone found it a good idea to arm Paris with a "panic device giving her a 24-hour link to prison guards in case she encounters trouble when she begins her prison sentence. The jail's spokesman Steve Whitmore had previously stated that Ms Hilton would "be treated like any other inmate who's classified as a low-level security risk." Despite this statement, Paris gets her 24-hour alarm and will be kept in the prison's 'special needs' unit, which is reserved for high-profile inmates. Paris has said that she's "really scared" to report to the Century Regional Detention Center in suburban Lynwood, California on this week. The jail houses about 2,200 women, but officials have said Hilton will be kept away from the general population. Barbara Walters said she has visions of the hotel heiress co-hosting on "The View." Can you imagine Paris Hilton co-hosting "The View?" Barbara Walters can! The Duchess of York Fergie "also sent a personal note to Paris, saying that while she could not condone her probation violation, "She knows that you hit obstacles in life and that you can pull out of them." Before the 26-year-old was jailed for driving on a suspended licence following a drink driving offence, the Duchess said the heiress needed to start accepting responsibility for her actions, given her public profile.
