Description:

In 1991, director Stephen Spielberg hit upon the idea of updating the timeless classic, "The Lost World," originally produced by Willis O'Brien in 1925. Spielberg's original idea was to enhance the existing film, updating the film for modern audiences through the use of computer enhancement. His idea was to give both the dinosaurs and the human characters vibrant and compelling personalities. Unfortunately, he was unable to get the rights to update the film after the public saw what Ted Turner had done to other early black and white classic films through colorization. This presentation is a demo reel of Spielberg's vision, illustrating the complex and fascinating character traits with which he had wished to embue the dinosaurs. Ultimately, Spielberg was forced to adapt Michael Criton's "Jurrasic Park" novel instead, and although they became an international success, spawning two sequels, a popular line of toys and memorabilia, and earning him a fucktastic amount of money, Speilberg secretly mourned the loss of the vision that was... THE LOST WORLD This spoof originally aired on Night Flight in the early 90s. I don't know who wrote it or who did the voices, but this is an absolute classic!

This is Spielberg to a tee... Silly twit. I'd have more respect for him, but it's the "creative" license that he took with Jurassic Park and the train wreck called the Lost World that puts a sour taste in my mouth when it comes to the "Great" Spielberg. Put it this way, the guy didn't like the real fleshed out tyrannosaur,.. didn't like reality... so he made Stan Winston remove the tyrannosaur's pubis.

Come on, now. 1925, that was cutting-edge. That was like high art.
