booq ::: Favorites Not only that, but remember Apple supply their own materials, casings, and peripherals. Which is the reason for the so-called "inflated" costs. The price is totally justified. 07-07-13 22:45:51 __________________________________________________
TheCPUman ::: Favorites I'm not a fan of software firewalls. I rarely run spyware removal software. My antivirus runs in background (and updates in background) and never bothers me, unless I were to encounter a virus. Defragmenting is inevitable with any filesystem HFS+ or NTFS. Though neither filesystem requires defragging more than the other; they're very robust filesystems. Managing Windows is simple and doesn't require much effort, unless you're ignorant. 07-04-28 11:54:06 __________________________________________________
TheCPUman ::: Favorites Ok, you said that guy has a slow laptop. I say you're full of crap and have absolutely no clue what you're talking about. The P4s use entirely different architectures. My SINGLE core AMD 'Venice' @ 2.50GHz would make your SINGLE core P4 CRY even if it were OCed to 4.0GHz. Also, I have no problem with Intel; I have equal respect for both chip makers. The Core 2s in my opinion are great. My friend has an e6300 @ 3.5GHz. Super performance to say the least. 07-04-28 11:44:02 __________________________________________________
bluediamond2077 ::: Favorites Maybe you like to manage your OS. I don't think I should have to. I think it should take care of itself. I got sick of dealing with firewalls asking me if this is ok and if that's ok. I had ZONE because windows firewall sucks. I had spysweeper and got sick of having to run it an hour a week. I had anti virus and got sick of running that as well. Then I had to defrag and all that crap. 07-04-27 03:44:45 __________________________________________________
bluediamond2077 ::: Favorites Yeah you can't compare one processor to dual core processor. I meant to put the specs of my MACBOOK, My INTEL mac has a duo core 2 at 2.0 ghz with one gig of RAM. Oh and for AMD * shakes hear * Intel is putting every body else to shame right now.I left AMD computers 5 years ago and would never go back. I'm glad macs when with intel. That was a big selling point for me. 07-04-27 03:36:38 __________________________________________________
bluediamond2077 ::: Favorites i've not had one single issue with my macbook. I have never been able to say that about any compaq, dell or Sony I have ever used , I don't think i'm a illiterate computer user. I always took part in the pcpitstop and dev forums back then and read my ass off. 07-04-27 03:27:54 __________________________________________________
TheCPUman ::: Favorites Obviously your PC has a Pentium 4 (netburst architecture, which sucks). Athlon 64s use an entirely different architecture, they do more work per clock cycle in comparison to P4s. My A64 'Venice' @ 2.50GHz would make your Pentium 4 cry, even if it were overclocked to 4.0GHz. To sum all of this up, you CAN'T compare clock frequencies with different architectures like most computer illiterate people do. 07-04-26 22:04:53 __________________________________________________
TheCPUman ::: Favorites I don't have the problems you have with Windows because I can manage my OS. The PC I have built is <$1,200 and runs all of the games I want. If I desired to run OS X on my PC, I could since Macs have become more like PCs in the sense that they now use x86 based processors. Also, don't think your OS is 100% secure (it's a rotting egg, to be honest). 07-04-26 21:47:09 __________________________________________________ |
